Tulip Flower Season. Feb 11 2021 Tulips normally begin emerging from the ground in late winter or early spring. The tulips season extends until the end of May when the Keukenhof closes.
The ideal soil pH level for bulbs is between 6 and 7. Most times tulips are best when their bulbs are left in the ground year round but your climate may not cooperate. This photo was used with permission from Gary Brown Photography.

From jewel-toned miniatures to the dazzle of huge lush doubles Tulips are available in a vast range of choices for creating stylish beds and borders. The optimal planting time is when night-time temperatures are 40-50 F. Tulip trees that are a few decades old will usually flower reliably every year. Mid-April is probably the best time to go as most of the flowers will be in full blossom.
