Heliconia Flower Adaptations. The heliconias flowers are tiny and found inside these bracts which are so large and colorful that they almost hide the flowers altogether. Grows up to 3-6 ft.

The flowers of the Expanded Lobster Claw plant are followed by smooth blue fruit. The flowers produce an abundance of nectar and the color shape and curve of the flowers are adapted to hummingbirds.
