The name came from the fact that Scottish Bluebells are found growing in meadows frequented by hares. Like the Texas Bluebonnet the Common Bluebell blooms in Spring typically mid-March into May. I have never tried growing it in the garden not even sure how well it would do. It is known as the British Bluebell or English Bluebell or common bluebell or simply bluebell.
