Anthurium Flowers Going Brown. Hi I bought my Anthurium from Bunnings and it started doing really well. I started doing some research when I noticed the new flower shoots were turning an orangish brown colour.
Lets see if that works. The plant produces a flower-like spathe with a well-developed spadix in traditional hues of red yellow and pink. But some of those are Christmas type anthuriums which have some green on the edges.

The spots grow bigger and look water-soaked when its humid. Anthuriums need nutrients like nitrogen phosphorous and potassium to thriveand brown leaves may signal your plant isnt getting enough of the nutrients it needs. Anthuriums are native to South America and are well distributed in tropical regions such as Hawaii. Place your plant in bright indirect sunlight not direct sun feed once a month during active growth with a high phosphorus fertilizer and water once a week with six ice cubes or half cup of water.
